Registering Your Domain
Before you get started with your website, please first register your domain. If
you already have a registered domain, then you will start with Step 1 below.
Your domain is the name you want the world to recognize your website by, for e.g.
coolaccountant.com,
or cnn.com. There are many types of domain extensions you can use, e.g. .net, .org,
.us, etc. Each of these has a specific meaning. If you are a commercial entity,
you should consider using a .com extension. Domain registration requires a separate
annual fee that is independent of your website subscription.

I used one of the many free email addresses before getting my own domain. I did
not realize how imporant this was to clients. Trust me, this makes a world of a
difference since I look a lot more professional and that I had a nice website to
describe my business to prospective clients.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a Domain Name?
A domain name is a unique name for your website. For example, mybookkeepingfirm.com,
or mytaxpractice.net, and so on.
- Which extension should I register, .com, .net, .org, or some other?
The .com indicates a commercial site. There have been several other extensions that
have come into existence of late. Everyone of them has a special purpose or meaning,
though they are not strictly observed. We recommend a .com extension. If you belong
to a non-profit, you may consider a .org for an extension.
- I already have a domain name registered. What do I do next?
Please work with your domain registrant (the company with whom you registered your
domain), to make sure that the "names servers" are pointing to
coolaccountant. Our server addresses
are:
- ns1.experient-tech.com
- ns2.experient-tech.com
It is recommended that both these addresses be assigned.
- I want only a website. I do not want email. Can I do that?
Of course! Please work with your domain registrant to set only the "www" record
to point to the name servers discussed in the previous FAQ question.
